FRIENDS OF THE HEALTH PROMOTERS USA was officially established on April 7, 2017 in the State of Virginia.
The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as the same may be amended from time to time and specifically is organized for the following purposes:
(a) To provide information on the work of the Health Promotion South Africa Trust (HPSA), based in Stellenbosch, South Africa, including practical channels for financial and non-financial support, and other areas of direct engagement with the work of HPSA.
(b) To organize educational and other informational programs on the work of HPSA; to create and distribute publications, educational materials, media presentations, public awareness campaigns and the like related to HPSA; and to provide consultations and updates on the results of HPSA work;
(c) To contribute the proceeds of its charitable and educational activities to HPSA; and to refrain from making any profits.
(d) To conduct any other related activities that will promote understanding of the work of HPSA and improve its prospects for general support.
(e) To exercise and enjoy all of the powers, rights and privileges granted to, or conferred upon, corporations of a similar character by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia provided that the corporation shall not exercise any power, express or implied, in such manner as to disqualify the corporation from exemption from income tax under Section 501 (a) as an organization described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the United States of America.
